“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17
How is God revealing Himself to you today? In last Sunday’s sermon we listed several ideas; today consider other promisesHe has given you as you live your new life.
One promise to which I return often was first given to Joshua as he was taking over for Moses in leading the Israelite nation. Big shoes to fill, big challenges, lots of doubt in Joshua’s heart. What did God say? “O, it will be ok”? NO. God said “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Count on it! When God says “never”, that is a very long time! That is forever! God promises to love and care for you, always!
As you face tough times, tough diseases, tough relationships, all tough things, don’t look for God to wave His hand and make all things comfortable for you. He has the power to do this, but most often does not. Don’t judge God as uncaring, if He does not appear to be some cuddly grandfather figure who makes all of your cares go away. God has never promised these things in His word. Trust God to be who He is, to keep the promises He has made, to never leave you.
I especially recommend you pray over Psalm 27:1 during frightening times, and cling to God’s promises made and kept. May your heart burn within you today, as God reveals Himself to you, as He comes along and walks with you today, through His promise to never leave you!
