Emmaus Walking, Tuesday April 28th

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”  Romans 10:17

In last Sunday’s sermon we considered several ways in which God comes to us through His word.  How is God revealing Himself to you today?  Let’s consider the new life He has given you.

Through St. Paul, God tells us about this newness of life in the first ten verses of Romans 6:
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”

You have been set free from sin, and all the ways the devil harms you!  He uses fear, anxiety, doubt, pandemics, isolation, loneliness and so many other things to hurt us.  His goal ALWAYS is to destroy your faith, for you to doubt God’s love, His care for you, His promises to you.  When you are attacked in these ways, pray that God would give you the strength to walk in your NEW life, trusting Him rather than other things which always let you down.

So take a few minutes and thank your heavenly Father for your freedoms, all of them.  Especially ask Him to help you turn away from your “old” life of anxiety and to your NEW life of freedom.  You are “dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.”! (Romans 6:11)

May your heart burn within you today, as God reveals Himself to you, as He comes along and walks with you today, through His promise of a new life!
